Black & Decker Pivot Driver (Model 9078) Power Supply

Today’s public service announcement is to inform you that the Black & Decker Pivot Driver (Model 9078) uses a 5VAC ~200mA power supply with a typical 2.5mm barrel connector for charging. The 3.6VDC marking on the driver itself is the power requirements for the motor, the charging connector is unlabeled, and a decal on the unit simply directs that only power supply 90500898 be used. Now you know that 905 That is all.

(This sort of information is often terribly hard to find when needed, such as when the device needs a charge, the power supply is missing, and a suitable replacement can’t be found. Hopefully stuff like this will one day help someone.)

Vince: I’d look at Jameco as they tend to carry all manner of power supply. Just be sure you get something that’s 5VAC output with a 2.5mm connector and you’ll be fine.

Batteries hard to find, visit Black & Decker site and look for parts info and diagrams … Use model 9078 Type-1 as they are 3 variations of this model, It has been discontinued by B&D but you can get replacements form B&D, e-bay and Amazon. I think B&D discontinued it because never break, my is 5 years old and I been locking for the battery pack in many places…so far cost + shipping cost more or less the price of a new unit which is not well made probably.

    Charger P/N 90500898 or ua050020
    120VAC / 5VDC
    200mA
