This is a photo of the rice pudding made last night. I scooped out a bit this morning so that I could both taste it to be sure it is good, and grab a photo of it. There is still a whole bunch left. It’s very, very rich, and quite good. I almost can’t help but wonder if it is a bit too rich, though… Hmm…

Whoa, weird. I just made another Alton Brown Indian rice pudding recipe the other night, but the one I made had pistachios and golden raisins in it.
That’s the same recipe… I just didn’t put that stuff in it.
Ahh, gotcha. I tripled the recipe and put in a cup of pistachios and raisins, and it was just too much stuff. That, and shelled pistachios are ridiculously expensive.
What is “half and half”?
I shall give your recipe a go tomorrow maybe. I’ve got some pudding rice to use.
Might make mine a bit runnier, I like the skin :-)
Oh, it’s just half heavy cream (whipping cream) and half milk. Commonly used to add to coffee in the US. Don’t worry about that really, though. Just use milk and heavy cream.
hmm do you think it would work well without the cardamom?
Oh, sure. Just put something else in there… Maybe cinnamon?
