Porcupine vs. Doggy

Here are two photos of a dog after it tangled with a porcupine. My understanding is that it was okay, but these photos are a bit painful to look at:

Yeah… :\ My understanding is that they were removed one by one at the vet with a pair of pliers and the dog was okay later on. But still…

Ick, that’s really terrible – but what a knucklehead. You’d think that it would quit after the first 12 quills. Then again, it’s a Bull Terrier, and apparently they have a high prey-drive, sooo…. :/
I wonder how the “thorny pig” fared…
