You should build a laser oscilloscope so you can just draw the music on the wall while you are at your work desk. It’s a lot of fun watching music that way, and figuring out what songs work best.
Hrm, as I’m not sure how it all works, I don’t think any particular song would make for a niftier background than another.. Although the idea of having it appear on a wall sounds really worth the effort and I might pester you after I do some digging :)

Done it already. :D
The easiest way is to glue a small mirror to a speaker cone and point a laser at it.
We could do one for outdoors. I have a Argon Laser from a lab. I think its 5mw. :-)
That’s right… Have you gotten that powered up yet? And do you have a lens for it?/
It powers up just fine. Without a lens I can put a spot on the evening clouds. :-)
Hmm. Want to sell / trade it? :D
Yeah. That’s what my friend has, we pointed at the cieling of the coffee house and tried out mp3’s all night. Bjork tends to work really well.
I stole the full size image as my background on my laptop. It’s a little warpy, but still neat :)
I can get you a proper sized one if you’d like. What resolution is your laptop?
I could also do a particular song if you’d like.
1280×800, i believe..

The audio I was demonstrating this with is probably best, because he’s known for some of his work with moduled sine waves.
