Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce

Click for huuuuge!

Tonight’s dinner is going to be some Morningstar Farms Buffalo Wings. While they are spicy enough on their own, it’s nice to have something else to dip them in.

Well, a few days ago I picked up the bottle of sauce displayed above, Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce. I first had this wonderful sauce at Satay Ria, a truly excellent Thai / Malaysian food shop in the Great Lakes Crossing food court. Not only does the food taste good, but the owner is always working, and he’ll make me veggie spring rolls specially upon request. They really are great.

Anyway, this chili sauce is an excellent almost plum sauce, but with a really good kick from pickled chilies. I’m especially fond of using it to accent any type of asian roll, and I’m certain it’d be good any place a sweet kick is desired.

Oh, also, one can purchase this chili sauce at Meijer and Cost Plus. It’s typically under US$3/bottle in either place.

i’m being inquisitive, not a smartass. but honestly, is there ever a need for a photograph of a chili bottle, let alone one that BIG? just seeking answers, not questioning your motives.

A need? No, I don’t think so… However, it’s a decent shot of the bottle, and I really, really like the stuff. Since it’s something I like, and I figure other people would like, I’ve posted the photo.

Oh, and I always do 640×480 (or so) photos, because they are big enough to actually see detail without clicking, not huge, and just look okay.

i don’t mean the posted photo in your journal, that’s a pretty normal size. it’s a cool bottle so i understand putting it up…i mean the one you click on though, and get that’s HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUge. hehe

Oh, hehe. That’s the original photo straight out of the camera. I always shoot at full res and keep the original. Since my photo gallery software will never change the originals, I just upload them and use it as my entire image repository. Then if I want to go do something with any of the images, I just hit up the gallery.

I also do regular backups back down to the machine here, and sometimes off to somewhere else, so there are always at least one copy of each image.

For truly important stuff, I also burn it to CD or DVD and keep it at a friend’s or relative’s house.
