Today marks over 500 days of uptime for rowla.nuxx.net.
Also, work is horribly busy lately. I guess that’s what I get for attempting to move into Engineering.
What type of engineering? I didn’t know they did any engineering, just consulting.
Client platform engineering. I’ve been doing things like… figuring out how to best implement products in the environment I support, writing up all the docs on doing so, etc.
When you say implement products do you mean to develop a product or implementing server in a support environment?
Develop a product. Eg: figure out how to deploy firewall rules via SMS, write scripts to do so, package it, write supporting documentation, etc.
Sounds like a lot of fun :)
It’s a job. I do it, I get paid, I’m comfortable. Could be worse, I guess…
I hear they move their facilities to Pontiac. If you were affect then how do you like paying city tax?
Nope, wrong. There’s a new building some people are moving into, but I’m not part of that group. I’m still working where I have been, just a few buildings down the street.
I hear the new from a guy i know from the gym. He says that all the building is moving out of Troy. I guess if you’re not in Troy then you’re not affected.
Well, I know lots more about what’s going on, and it’s just people moving around, mostly from Troy. And no, I’m not involved nor affected. :)
Don’t move into Science. It’s horribly busy there too. I’m a testament to that. YakYak was banned at work a couple of weeks back and the few moments during the day I spent reading it have been taken over with more work. I’ve not managed to get online at home this week so far I’ve been so busy.
I wonder if anyone has developed a “topology of effort” regarding professional careers and other occupations, so we could work out what would be the optimal {monetary renumeration}/{effort expended}. I would have thought that cocaine dealing would be rather top heavy on that ratio, and probably a art college student might feature heavily weighted given the “effort expended”. Occupations that have questionable legality might have a higher ratio than those which are fully legal as well..
