i cry every single time i watch a launch. i’m getting teary reading about it right now, actually. it is one of my goals in life to be present for a shuttle launch.
I remember when every launch was all over TV. My father and I would sit waiting and watching. We’ve been watching the series From Earth to the Moon and the clips they show have taken me back to watching it live on TV. It makes me sad that the space program is not news worthy enough to make live TV anymore. :-(
So what do think of the moon landing in the 60s. Did it really happened? Or is it a hoax and conspiracy? They land it once on the moon in the 60s yet they haven’t made a 2nd attempt in over 30 years. I’m leaning in the direction that it was a hoax. So what’s your opinion?
I’m fully aware of the “space race” but what, exactly, would faking the moon landing accomplish? Doesn’t it seem a little unnecessarily complicated to orchestrate a hoax like that? What purpose would it serve?
While the space program did indeed cost a lot (a lot) of money, faking the moon landings would be pretty expensive too. And for what? To say “we got there first” live on TV? Six times?
Yo! I’m finally in the market for a good SLR digital camera and I’m considering a Canon Rebel XT/i, the Canon 20D or the Canon 30D. What do you think is a good price for a used use for these and what is a good price on a new one? The reason I’m asking is I know you are really into camera/computer/photography.
Thank you. :) I just had VLC on my Mac playing the Windows Media-type stream from NASA TV’s main page. Then every once in a while I’d hit the Grab Screen key (Option-Command-S, I think) and it’d just drop a PNG on the desktop. I just hit the key every time something nifty came up.
I’m sure VLC on Windows or *nix would be the same as well.

But… the shadows! And the lack of stars! ;)
Yes, well, people have all kinds of theories about the nature of the universe. ;)
Too many words. You are using diarrhea of the mouth to try and prove something. That’s all it is. crap! crap I tell you!
REAL science is simple. It’s all in discreet chapters in the Bible. Duh.
Especially in Zephaniah where the Lord really starts whoopin’ some ass.

I know how you feel :)
Great captures Steve. What did you use to grap the frames? I truly never thought of grabbing frames for my own use.
I’m also finding it hard to believe that some still feel the moon walk was faked. I’m hoping I’m just not getting the joke ;-)
