Nintendo DS Browser

Nintendo DS Browser (Opera for Nintendo DS)

Guess what’s out? Yep, Opera for the Nintendo DS. Inside the package is a huge manual, Memory Expansion Pak [sic], and the software cartridge itself.

It seems to work pretty well thus far, although it doesn’t appear to support Flash, as Meatspin just didn’t display. Nor did YouTube content. Poopy. Google Maps seems to work, just very slowly. I haven’t had a chance to try Gmail yet.

UPDATE: Gmail seems to work fine. And I purchased it at Target for $29.99. I had called a GameStop earlier and the person answering the phone quoted a price of $34.99 and insisted that it must be preordered, and that there is no other way to get it on Wednesday.

        I’ll see what I can do. :)

Honestly, not easily. Searching for ‘ds opera review’ and ‘ds browser review’ give lots of hits.

And I’m having some problems with it. But as I can’t post to LJ right now I can’t update things with that. As a short list I:

      · Get SSL cert errors at Gmail and Yahoo.
      · Cannot connect to https://secure.nuxx.net or https://www.fortify.net/sslcheck.html
      · Image resizing is slow.
      · Poor JavaScript support, whereas the Nintendo site which comes in the bookmarks doesn’t display right and gives an error saying that JS support is required.
      · No flash support.

How are you getting gmail to work? Mine keeps telling me my browsers cookie functionality is turned off… gmail does NOT work.

The last time I tried it was the day before the browser was supposed to formally launch. Maybe Google made some change to Gmail for that useragent that day?

When I tried it, Gmail worked as if the browser was just any other non-Javascript browser.

It’s very frustrating… Just got it an hour ago… Anyone wanna buy a “barely used” DS Lite Browser?

Yeah, I’m thinking the same thing. It’s just not that great. Hopefully it can be updated online.

By the way, do I know you?

No… sorry for butting in. :) You popped up on my google search for “gmail with NDS Browser”.

I hope it can be updated…
