MySpace

Also, any band which uses MySpace as their primary online presence will not get any visits from me. That site is too damned annoying to use.
With web space as cheap as it is and basic design as simple as it is, there’s no reason not to have at least a standard website with some info, tracklists, and other such things on it.
Man, I *hate* this myspace shit, it’s fucking awful. I hate looking up a band, or worse, an event which is only listed on Myspace. Particularly annoying is that you are expected to have a myspace account and log in to view entries about public events, etc. I too avoid this and businesses/bands, etc who only have a myspace will lose my interest. I also feel pissed that all these artists are signing over rights to News Corp when they put shit up on myspace. Fuck all that.
I have a MySpace account solely to tie up the name c0nsumer. :\
Just so you know, MySpace actually changed their ToS and it’s a bit more giving to artists. Something about how all MySpaces rights to the content terminate when it’s removed from the site. I think there’s also something about the compensation for using being better, too.
I cringe now when I see ads for movies that have a Myspace address for the movie. It’s like the world is starting to revolve around that site- which has a few good features that aren’t worth the ton of annoying things you have to deal with in order to use it.
