Let’s have a black celebration…

I just hooked the test MIDIbox SID-NUXX to my stereo for the first time, and I’m sitting here listening to a SID track which is a compilation of Depeche Mode songs. And it sounds great!

Well Congrats!
I’ve been watching you do these things, but I am neither electically nor MIDI’ly inclined.
What’s a SID, exactly?
It’s the sound chip from a Commodore 64, and pretty much the part responsible for the wonderfully… wonderful sounds which it made.
It’s pretty much what everyone wants for chiptune / 80s glitchy sounding techno. And it’s wonderful sounding, to boot.

I love me the Ghostbusters from C64 so hard. I wasn’t able to get it to work by emulator, mostly because I don’t know how the emulator loads files from the OS, but dang, I want it to have my babies.
Heh, I was just listening to the theme from that… Now it’s back to more Depeche Mode.
I guess this thing works pretty well. I can’t wait to get it into a case.
hooray!
