So. DreamHost is disappointing me again. I’m within about a day of dropping $1300 (and 2.5x per month) on a 1U server and going back to colocation with Waveform.
This is pissing me off.
UPDATE: Yep, looks like MySQL problems.
How are they disappointing you?
Ben’s site has just suddenly stopped working. Gallery will no longer connect to the DB. The problems with my home IP ending up in hosts.deny and their people not realizing it, causing me a day of work.
Poor spam filtering, mysql sometimes just falls over, their large number of problems this last week…
What are or aren’t they doing?
Basically just working very unreliably.

They’ve just had a lot of stuff fall over on them as of late. July’s not been a good month for them.
I know. I’ve been checking the status page more often than LJ lately. (RSS doesn’t work here at work.)
Doesn’t matter if things have suddenly gotten bad. I switched to them just as it happened, and if it doesn’t get better, I won’t stay.
The last couple weeks DH has had far more trouble than they have had historically (in the last three years or so I’ve been with them). Most of it is, IMO, due to the power issues caused by the heat wave…
It’s really frustrating when a user’s site falls over for no reason, though. And since I’m still within that 97 day window, I can hop over to something else.
I’m pricing out sticking my old dual P3 board into a 1U to get it back into Waveform.
yeah, they used to be GREAT with only problems now and then. Lately they have been really dropping the ball. I hist ALL of my domains with them currently and have been getting very frustrated lately with all the issues and outages, etc.
