ATI HDTV Component Adapter

Has anyone here ever tried one of these, the ATI HDTV Component Video Adapter, with their Mac. See, this device can adapt a DVI-I output to be component video out, but supposedly only with certain ATI cards.

Well, with the advent of the Mac mini, and relatively cheap bluetooth mice / keyboard bundles, I’m sure you can see where I’m going with this…

  1. what about something like the EyeTV? That plus an iMac mini would be ideal, I would think.

Well, that’d work, but what the ATI adapter allows is for you to convert a DVI out to a component out. I’ve already got the recording functionality in the Formac Studio TVR that’s hooked to the G5. I would move it downstairs to the Mini, but it doubles as my DV bridge.

What I want is a nice way to get video out of the Mini… S-Video is nice, but component provides *much* better color.
