Nixie

So I want a Nixie tube clock… Here’s the problem. There are some really nice clocks up on eBay, likely to go for the same price as it would cost me to build a clock. The question is, how soon would I be able to build a clock? I’d love the warmth of a nixie clock in my bedroom, but should I wait and build one and hope I do it right, or spend the same amount for a nice looking, finished, functional clock?

Ooh, yeah, I’ve been wanting one of those for awhile meself. As for build or buy… I’d say, don’t just count the cost of parts in your self-building estimate. Include time to build, plus annoyance at screwing a few things up, minus enjoyment of D.I.Y. Then consider how satisfied you’d be, or not, with how the end product appears for years after :)
Personally, while I like a good D.I.Y. project, I’m a lazy bastard and I’d just buy one.
