Basement Rearranging!

Click for more…
For some reason I had the desire to rearrange my basement. I’d been thinking about it for a while, so I finally did it. For what it’s worth, I put things in roughly the positions I’d thought they would go had I finished the basement, and in doing so I’ve realized that things wouldn’t quite fit as planned…
Anyway, for those of you that have seen my basement before, you’ll see it’s quite a bit different. I also have plans to have the (everlasting) rod hole leak in the corner fixed, and as you can see here, there wouldn’t have been much room to work on the wall.
So, I did a bunch of rearranging, some cleaning and straightening, made an impromptu run of CAT5 (for the Airport Express) and set the levels on the home theater speakers. I’m going to try to remember to grab some coax from Home Depot tomorrow so I can run a CATV signal over to the TV. So, everything is in order, and I’m pretty happy with where it all is.
Oh, I do still have to run power to the arcade games. I almost forgot that, and they are useless without electricity.
Looks nice!
In all honesty, do you think it is either nicer or more open than before? I think it’s better, but that might just be because it’s different from what I’m used to. Also, I did away with the green vinyl couches and some tables and such.
Nice!
Hehe, thanks. :) By the way… I need to get those DVDs back. hehe. And what should I do with that computer?
That’s quite the little party place! My parents’ basement is similar. That’s the kind of couch one would screw on in high school while the parents were upstairs and thought their little darling and her beau were watching a movie!
Hehe… That *so* wasn’t me… It really is a comfy futon, though. That, and I can’t justify buying some nice furniture until I have a finshed basement. After that time it’ll be better, though. Maybe a big BIG comfy couch or two… Mmm…
I like it. I think the new layout works better, somehow.
Thank you. :) I have to agree, too… It’s a lot more… Cozy? That, and I did away with some of the furniture (well, I will once people come pick it up) so that opened it up a bit too. I no longer have seating for 25, though. ;)
wow, thats an awsome basement space. would die to have that large of a space open in my basement. should be really cool when you get it done.
Thanks. :) I’ve kinda slacked off on the finishing of it, though. Well, not so much slacked off as decided not to do it now. I’m just not feeling the motivation to do that much work and spend that much money. Not right now…
i know exactly what you mean. we have a whole bunch of work to do in the back room of our house and just havent gotten to t yet. too much money, too much time, and its too cold to be tearing up walls right now.
It’s kinda sad that the only thing I could think of when I saw that was “hmm… Yamaha home theater system and Monster cable.” Man do I work to much.
Hehe… All the Yahmaha stuff is the non-Best Buy stuff with the longer warranty, though. Interestingly, the local BBY’s price was cheapest on 12 gauge copper cable, so I ended up snagging 100′ there. I was even having a hard time finding generic stuff online that, shipped, was less than the $80 I paid for the spool.
Oh, and yeah, it is Monster-brand cable. XP-HP, if I remember right. It may have been mis-marked, because the price seemed rather cheap for 100′. $0.80/ft? Yeah… Real cheap.
nice basement, well have to get together and play cards sometime :)
