I thought you all would find this link from BoingBoing to be interesting: 1000 Arten ein Bier zu öffnen
That is, ‘1000 ways to open a beer’. I think. My German isn’t so great.
Still, it’s nifty.
Interesting enough, but I was distracted but the 11-for-12 run of consonants (ssstadtdsch) in “Grossstadtdschungel” (“Urban Jungle”).
Ah, German spelling! Especially without the eszet (otherwise, it be merely 10-of-11: Großstadtdschungel)!
Oh, and it’s literally, “1000 kinds a beer to open.” So, yeah, your translation is fine.
That’s what I got when I checked it with Babelfish, but it didn’t sound quite right, so I went with what I thought it meant.
I’d like Babelfish a lot better if it provided multiple word options and such, because it’s really only useful if one already has a sense of what something might mean, and just needs specific tweaks.
But for the languages I kindasorta can read already, like German, it’s useful enough.
