Damn, stay far away from THAT hot hazardous waste explosion action. :(

Oh, hell yeah. This is a hazardous waste processing facility.

      1. fakymcfakerson August 10, 2005

The only one in Michigan, and I think one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) in the midwest. Right near 94, too.

        1. c0nsumer August 10, 2005

Are you sure? I question that, as there’s a lot of stuff up this way, too… And near the rouge river…

It’s what my professor always used to say- he was pretty kooky, but generally dead-on. I, of course, taking the almighty professor’s word for it, have not actually researched the place.

And keep in mind that a lot of companies will do a fair amount of hazardous materials processing on-site/in-company, because it’s cheaper. And, I believe, less regulated. So it’s entirely possible, MI being a hotbed of auto industry-ness, that there are several other company-specific hazmat processing site in addition to EQ. EQ’s major distinction is that they’re open to the public. …yeah, now that I think about it, it’s the only PUBLIC hazmat site. Durr. Way to go me, thinking at this time of night.

            Still hideous stuff.

Oh, interesting… I think I’ll read more about them come morning. :) Goodnight, for now…

haha i dunno, they’re still not sure what chemicals are involved. i think i’ll wait :)

        1. glinted August 10, 2005

they said it’s mostly de-icing stuff for planes, basically they convert hazardous waste to a “nicer” compound to bury somewhere.

            ick.

    Holy Carp batman!!

Ok … that is a chemical plant … I have a feeling in a couple of days / weeks we will have some super mutants to deal with. I kept warning people about the danger of chemical plants / explosions and the inevidable mutants that would result from said explosions … but NOOO No one ever listens to Kevin now do they!! On the bright side no humans where hurt (at least not until the mutants are released).

Well, at least all the crap will blow to the east and fall on Ontario. It worked good for the generator, too… ;)
