This was purchased brand new from the Dollar Tree located at M-59 and Mound. Yes, it will be useful for something… But still…
(It turns out that the service port on the back of my new TV (photo gallery retired) has an A port and needs a cable like this for diagnostics / firmware upgrades.)

Argh! It’s the “evil” USB cable. Your TV manufacturer got it so very very wrong by making the TV end need to be an “A” connector, it should be a “B” connector.
Want to cause an interesting fizzy bang? Use that cable (which violates the USB specs, they have an entertaining section at http://www.usb.org about those wires) to connect two PCs together… If you’re lucky both machines will work it out and shut the power off. If not…
I’m intrigued, what would plugging a USB memory drive into your TV do?
