It works!
April 26, 2007
Working on the HMLiberatorOh, and as mentioned in the previous post, it works. Well, mostly. I had the Honda Music Link passing audio from the iPod and communicating with the HMLiberator, but then I ran into a bit of a snag. In the byte I was keying off of for a response (the checksum of the packets) I’ve run into a collision, so I now need to come up with a better way to selectively respond to commands from the HML.
I think I’ll try matching off of the actual command itself. This might not be too difficult, but either tomorrow or maybe over the weekend I’ll try and flesh out a good way to do that.
For now, though, I’m just happy that it’s proven to be possible to do what I want. :D
First wanted to say I always love reading your posts. Your technical and creative ability to put these types of projects together always astounds me, keep it up :)
Also I was looking for something and you were the first person who came to mind. Remember those old surge surpressor devices radio shack sold back in the day that sat on top of your desktop pc and under your monitor (in the typical configuration). You’d plug in all your devices but the front of it had illuminated switches so you could turn off each device separately.
I am currently looking for something like that now and did not know if such a beast still exists. If it did, I figured of everyone I know, you’d have run into one.
