Woo! $475 for the lens and $20 for the hood, sold to a guy in South Africa who appears to be legit.
I like to think that I get more bids by being willing to ship overseas. I think if one is careful it’s generally safe, and with the US dollar doing horribly there’s a big advantage for people in other countries to buy our stuff. Shipping overseas is pretty easy, too. Same old USPS, just different options to pick from.
Just don’t ship to Russia without using FedEx. I think their Post Office just drives straight to the flea market with USA packages. Lost 4 sent there.
Ack, damn. Yeah, this will be insured for $500.
I’m pretty sure that being willing to spend the 2 minutes it takes filling out customs forms does get you more and higher bids. When I was selling a lot on ebay, most of my buyers were overseas, and most of them thanked me for being one of the few people who would ship to them.
