A contest for you: Guess what this is a photo of, and reply.

So, have you guessed what that is? Here is another, different angle, photo of the same item… See if you can get it without looking at the caption first, though. Yes, both of these were somewhat hard to capture as the object is curved in all three visible dimensions.

If you want some other macro photos taken tonight to look at, this is a close-up of part of the controller out of an old 2x CD-R. And this one here is… Well… I’ll let it be a surprise, too.

    Ew.

    1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

But it tastes like corn dogs!

      1. b3auty_qu33n March 2, 2006

You taste like corn dogs. Oh snaps, I so went there. ;)

Biore strips are the grossest when they belong to someone else!

    1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

I cannot claim to be first to this idea…

The photos which sold me on their effectiveness were taken by someone with an Intel QX10 (I believe) toy USB microscope / webcam.

Then I tried a pore strip… And they are nice!

    2. It’s actually kinda cool!

I’m thinking like this… Steve is cool and that’s a part of steve… why should it cease to be cool when it is not Steve?

Is there Steveness in pore juice?

Is there a Steve without pore juice?

      It’s all very confusing.

      1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

I have to suggest trying them. They are really nice, and pulling that off of one’s nose is rather rewarding.

      2. takarosa March 2, 2006

My personal opinion is that even if Steve oozes cool, once the ooze has left Steve, it no longer is cool. It’s just…*squick*

        1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

I agree. I do not like oozing things, and anything I tend to ooze is kinda gross.

          1. LJ?

          2. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

            Sounds about right to me…

  3. orienell March 2, 2006

    Steve….

    Your not right ;-)

  4. alizarincrimson March 2, 2006

    Oh, ew. Ew!

  5. childofsnow March 2, 2006

I really really wish I’d skipped past the giant photo. Most of the time it’s wonderful – beer, yummy foods, the like – but this? Ew.

    1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

Quite, but think about how nice your nose feels once you’ve pulled one off?

      1. childofsnow March 2, 2006

Be that as it may, I don’t even like looking at my own. Anyhow, I prefer chocolate face masks for sheer decadence and nice skin.

        1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

Really? Wow. I find such things fascinating.

You know, in Victoria Station, right at the Gatwick Express platform there is a Lush store, and I completely failed to visit it. :(

          1. childofsnow March 2, 2006

There’s one in Windsor, too. Plus three in Toronto. And I’m a lucky duck because there’s one just up the road (45 minutes) in Boulder.

And before I forget, I’ve found a spectacular sushi place here. *swoon*

          2. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

Ooh, nice. :) I had good sushi… Oh… Probably about a week ago with . Today’s lunch was thai, though.

            Hrm… I should visit Windsor sometime… Or maybe a weekend in Toronto…

  6. biore strip?

    1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

      Bingo. :)

  7. missadroit March 2, 2006

    Pore strip!

    1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

      Mmm…

  8. dystempted March 2, 2006

You and your Biore strips are fucking gross, why is it you’re always the only person on my friends list that ever makes me vomit?

  9. dystempted March 2, 2006

And i’m unadding you for a day or two until that picture drops out of my friends list queue. Because, seriously, that is GROSS.

But don’t take it personally, hehe. I mean, take the scolding personally, but I’m really unadding you just so I dn’t have to keep looking at that picture today and tomorrow. Unless you’l’l put it under a cut, that will save me the trubble.

    1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

      Dude. You said ‘trubble’! :D

  10. function13 March 2, 2006

If you blur it a little bit and tweek the color, it could be next NIN single cover art work.

  11. little_turtle March 2, 2006

I’m always amused and amazed by what things come off with the Biore pad. I’m glad to know (and see I guess) I’m not the only one.

    1. c0nsumer March 2, 2006

Yes! It had actually been a few months since I last used one, but I didn’t shower first (only hand-washed my face) so the pore gunk didn’t swell as much as it could have, thusly I didn’t get out a ‘normal’ amount. Still, interesting photo.

Maybe next time I’ll be certain to take a full shower first and somehow flatten the pore strip…

  12. invader_zins March 2, 2006

Looks like one of those pore cleaning strips, after it’s been used.

*scurries off to read the rest of the comments and find out what it is*

    1. invader_zins March 2, 2006

      Ha! I was right.

      and um…

      ew.

    Sac and stubble

Is that the close-up shot of your balls and the stubble that’s growning out. Have you recently shaved your balls and now the hair is growing back?

  14. mitejen March 2, 2006

I actually thought it was a closeup of a buttcheek with dead skin flakes hanging off.

At least I knew it was organic!

You’re right, those biore strips ARE fun. I don’t have to use them anymore, because the stuff I use gets rid of all the widdle blackheads.
