Honda Music Link

So I’m sitting here with a disassembled Honda Music Link interface box (P/N 08A28-1H1-1000-01) on the workbench. It appears that the PCB inside is double layer, so I don’t think I’ll have too much of a problem making a schematic from it.

Now I just need to find some good software for making schematics… I used to poke around with Eagle, but I haven’t used that in quite a while.

why don’t you just rebuild the whole fuckin’ car?

      Uhm, yeah.

      Clearly you aren’t a geek.

Eagle is the only one I know that’s free. I also have a student copy of CircuitMaker 2000 before they stopped giving out the student version. Its limited to smaller circuit boards only but very nice and easier to use then Eagle.

Eagle unfortunately isn’t free (anymore?) and doesn’t seem to be doing what I need, either. Basically, I’m looking for an easy way to input a parts list, wire it all together, and have the software do some sort of intelligent layout of the schematic, similar to automatically routing a PCB. Or something. :)

I’ll check out CircuitMaker 2000 later today, too…

Basically, I’m trying to make a schematic for this part so I can better understand exactly what it does.
