Honda Music Link iPod Adapter Review Redux
Well, it turns out that my Honda Music Link iPod Adapter Review has gotten some rather high rankings on Google.
I’m the first hit for honda music link review and honda music link ipod adapter review. I’m also on the first page and within the first handfull of results for honda music link and honda music link ipod.
I’ve also been getting one or two pieces of email per day from people who have read the review. People are generally divided between saying that they either have or have used the Honda Music Link and don’t like it, or who were thinking about buying it and now won’t.
I’m also likely to go to the Auto Show this year and if I do, I’ll be certain to talk to the Honda reps. Based on some photos I saw of the show a few days ago (but can’t find now) Honda to be touting this same iPod connection kit and even has a fully logo’d Element touting this accessory. It’ll be interesting to see what they have to say.
Hmm, it’d be especially interesting if I brought a stack of business cards marked “Read the first review of Honda’s new Music Link iPod Adapter: http://www.nuxx.net/hondamusiclink.html” and left them in the vehicle.
When this is all said and done Honda’s gonna buy you a new car just to shut you up. LOL.
Great review man.
Thanks. We’ll see… The minimum I would accept from them is a complete refund on the adapter and a new glove box. (It had to be drilled as part of the install.)
I’m more concerned with informing other people precisely what the adapter is like so that they don’t waste their money on it.
If that had been complete a week ago, I totally would have left it in the car for you, during the press preview.
Aww, thanks. :) A week ago I was just getting a handle on the problem… It’s too bad I didn’t get the part sooner.
You know, I’m starting to wonder if Honda rushed the part for NAIAS 2006, just so they could have the iPod buzzword. Hrm, I think more they just wanted an iPod integration and the usability folks had to give up their seats so marketing could be at the table.
Well I am sure someone from Honda will be eager to talk to you. Let’s hope it’s not their legal dept ;)
is there a point where you just let it go? I mean it’s kinda seeming like this obesessive fued now as if Honda was out to get you. Just get your money back and call it a day.
Actually, I haven’t done much with regards to this in a few days, it’s just that people keep emailing me, so I decided to check up on it. Hell, I’ve gotten (I believe) three emails today alone about it.
And I’ll let it go when I can get my money back. Electrical automotive components are never returnable, so in order to get any sort of money back I’ll have to get the attention of Honda Corporate. Although at this point I’d rather deprive them of sales and credibility because of their releasing of a crap product under the guise of the best-in-field solution.
ok…well good luck to you on that.
