Noise Filter

Do any of you know where I can get plans or a schematic for a noise filter to put on a 12v DC car power source? I’m now looking into making my own iPod hookup, but the normal Radio Shack filter is physically too large for my purposes.

pull the power from the back of the stereo unit itself. take the +12v to power the ipod charger from the power antenna output. (that way it turns on and off)

in my car, this went from a nice hum from the cig lighter to no noise at all from the antenna power lead.

Do that, and there’s no need for a filter.

That’s exactly what I”m thinking of doing now. The cig lighter is keyed, but that’s a better route to go. And I’ve got a Y cable from the iPod thingy install which is left over, and +12v goes down one of those lines. I just need to find it. :)

That’s sort of what I’m alluding to in the more recent post…
