Does anyone who reads this have any experience with Jabber? I’m trying to get a third party client (for use on my home machine) to connect with the corporate servers here, and it’s just. not. working.
So, please? Anyone who can throw some ideas my way?
Thanks!
I still have not met one person who uses Jabber, you might be the first one ;)
Hehe… We use it at work, and allow connections from the outside world. I’m trying to make a Mac-based client work, but I’m having big problems with that.
Is Japper the only chat application you can use? Does its traffic go over a different port than f.e. MSN?
Oh, it’s not that… It’s something with the authentication bits. I need someone who can poke through the XML log from the app and help me see what’s not being sent right.
Hey, by the way, what are you up to within the next few months? I really need a vacation, and I could use to have someone to meet up with and spend time with. Interested?
Hi!
In the next few months I will stay pretty much in Amsterdam, as far as I know of now. You’ve been talking about vacation for quite some time now, and maybe it’s about time you’d buy a ticket!
Ofcourse I’d like to meet up with you and show you this town a bit.
If you want me to, I could ask some people about the best accommodations in Amsterdam. I know some people who have worked in hostels etc.
I think Les uses jabber, you might try him. Also, thanks for the vodka info- tried to comment back a few days ago but lj was wonky.
Oh, you’re welcome. :) I might hit him up… I don’t want to bother him if he’s too busy, though.
trillian works as a jabber client, so i’m told.
Thanks, but it’s not a Jabber client which I need. It’s an issue with picking apart logs and captures from a my work-provided client so that I can make my personal client connect.
