Bus Pirate v2.go LEDs (and other Moblog Photos)

Today I finally got to poking around with the Hack A Day Bus Pirate v2.go. It’s a a nice little debugging tool which shows up as a 115.2k serial terminal via USB, and allows one to send and receive a bunch of different serial protocols to devices for testing. However, the LEDs on it are far, far, far brighter than they need to be. At my normally-lit desk in a normally-lit office, they are glaring. I’m going to consider replacing them next time I place an order from Mouser or Digi-Key.

The Jan & Linda Bust Trust Shirts

Danielle is doing the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk in a few weeks, and we’re just now finalizing the t-shirt designs. If any of you are interested, we’re now taking orders for the shirts, at $25/each. I apologize for the short notice, but orders need to be received by tomorrow evening; Tuesday, July 28th, 2009. There is a bit of a lead time required for these shirts, and we’ve pushed it to the last minute.

The logo up top there is the final front design, done by Kristi / Pixel Fairy Design. The back will be printed with the names and logos of the sponsors. The shirts will be white, American made and printed athletic / workout type shirts, printed with a dye sublimation process by Voler, one of the best cycling jersey companies in the world. This means that not only will the shirts be breathable and comfortable for working out in, they will also last for quite a while.

Sizing information for the shirts themselves is available here on the sizing tab. To order shirts, please email me at c0nsumer@nuxx.net with the size and quantities desired. For payment we can either handle it as the shirts are delivered in person, or via Google Checkout or PayPal.

If you need or want the shirts shipped, please let also let me know where to send them. I’ll be tacking on a single $5 fee to each to-be-shipped order for Priority Mail postage, but this should be good for however many shirts that you order. This means that one shirt shipped will be $30, but three shipped will only be $80.

Squeaky Hedgehog!

Today I’m working from home because my car is at the shop getting the brakes sorted out. Danielle’s dog Roxie is here, and every few minutes she arrives with a different toy, wanting to play. It’s a bit distracting, but I can’t say that I mind.

Generic Ride Home

After this morning’s commute by bicycle I had to ride home. This was a relatively uneventful, and only a couple of people got directly in my way, and no one almost hit me. I also stopped behind my Dad’s plant, which is along the Clinton River Trail, and he was able to come out and say hi for a few minutes. He warned me that the rain was coming a bit quicker than I’d expected, so after that I hurried home. It’s a good thing too, because light rain started about a mile and a half away from home, and within five minutes of getting in the garage an actual downpour began.

Now, time for dinner.

Busy, Busy, Busy…

I’ve been really, really busy lately. This isn’t a bad thing, I just haven’t had enough time to get everything done that I’d hoped to. Lately I’ve had the MMBA website move, really bad weather on Saturday, shopping (REI, IKEA, Target, Meijer, etc) on Sunday, work then the MMBA Metro North quarterly meeting today, and now I’m making tapioca pudding.

I still have to find time (hopefully tomorrow) to fix a friend’s NAS, finish up the x0xb0x, and whatever else comes up. For now, though, have some moblog photos:

· Bags and carts at Ikea on Ford Road.
· Partially eaten veggie burger from J. Alexanders in Somerset.
· The urinal at J. Alexanders is a nice, old style model.
· After buying gas I bought this very large apple fritter.
· I do wonder why this person doesn’t just disable their touchpad.
· Partially eaten rosemary bread with jalapeno havarti melted on the top.
· Waiting for biyrani at Rangoli Express #1.

Eviscerated Bear

Danielle gave Roxie this stuffed bear before she left for Flordia. Roxie spent much of this week playing with it and removing the squeaker and stuffing. This is how it ended up.

One of Roxie’s favorite past times is removing the innards (squeakers, fluff, etc) from stuffed animals. She only plays with those she is given, but once she has one she quickly sets into it. Throughout the week I’d find her taking the toy and pressing it into my hand trying to get me to play with her or watching her lay behind me pulling out hunks of fluff from a new-found inside passage.

Oh, and the crusty look to the fur? Yep, dried dog slobber.

Roxie Go Home

After a bit over a week here it’s time for Roxie to go back home. Danielle arrived here last night right as I returned from Brian’s birthday party, and after some gift returning / shopping stuff she left today with Roxie in the back of the car.

Roxie Wants Snuggles

Here, have yet another photo of Roxie, this time with her leaning strongly against my leg wanting me to pet her. One can even see the line down her back caused by her sleeping inverted, leaning against the couch a few minutes earlier. And the nose. The nose!

(For what it’s worth, she’s now laying with her head between the bike wheels seen there chewing on the remains of a rawhide from earlier in the week. She tends to eat all but 1″ of them, then leaves that bit laying around until I won’t give her a new one.)

Thirsty Puppy

Given the option, Roxie will drink out of bathroom sinks.

Normally Roxie drinks out of her water bowl, but given the option she’ll also gladly drink out of bathroom sink faucets. When doing so she doesn’t lick the tap, she just laps heartily at the stream of water.
