I’m now running Vista on my work laptop, and while I had no problem finding Bluetooth drivers for it, I didn’t like the default Bluetooth OBEX program which only allowed one file at a time to be exchanged. Looking around online I came across ObeXplorer, a free OBEX tool written by Giorgi Dalakishvili. It provides exactly the basic browsing and copying functionality that I wanted, and now whenever I’m using a PC I use this to pull files off of my phone for upload to my moblog. On OS X I still use Bluetooth File Exchange.
If you’d like a copy of it, please visit Giorgi’s post about it, or download it from my mirror here: 2008_10_ObeXplorer.zip
Nice to see that you are using my program. Have you encountered any errors? Are there any features that you would like to be added?
Giorgi
Giorgi: Hey there… Thanks very much for writing it. I’ve found it quite useful. There are two things I could see being nice to have, but they aren’t really necessary. For one, it would be nice if the view (List, Large Icon, etc) was preserved between uses of the application. Two, I think it would be nice if one could drag and drop files between Explorer windows and ObeXplorer. These two features would make it a bit faster for me to use.
The drag and drop feature is available in the updated version. You can download it from here: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/mobile/ObeXplorer.aspx (requires free registration). It only supports dragging files from explorer to ObeXplorer as the other way around seems to be more difficult.
