Bicycle Torque Specifications

About

When working on bicycles I am fond of ensuring that parts are torqued to specification. Some of these specifications are harder to find or only available buried in print manuals, so this page intends to collect those which I've found useful along with references.

Specifications

Brakes

Shimano BR-785 XT Hydraulic Calipers

Post Mount: 6-8 N-m (53 - 69 in-lb) (Reference).

Drivetrain

SRAM XX 2x10 Chainrings, MY 2010

Chainring Bolts: 8–9 N-m (80–90 in-lb) (Reference, Page 25). Thus it follows that other SRAM alloy chainrings and bolts where the bolt threads directly into the chainrings (eg: 2011-ish X0) use the same torque.
