About
This is my mom, grandma, and great-grandma's chocolate chip cookie recipe. It's a very, very good recipe, but as of late I've been using The Chewy. Both recipes are good, with this one making a thinner, more 30's style cookie, when cooking with 'new' ingredients like Crisco were the thing to do.
Ingredients
- 1 Stick Margerine (at room temperature)
- 1 Cup Crisco
- 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 3/4 Cup White Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 2 1/4 Cup Flour
- 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 12 Ounce Bag of Semisweet Chocolate Chips
Oven Temperature
375°F
Steps
- Mix all wet ingredients together in mixer until smooth.
- Slowly incorporate dry ingredients into mix until mixed completely.
- Stir in chocolate chips either briefly in the mixer, or by hand.
- Drop rounded teaspoonfulls of dough about 2" apart on a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to pieces of paper towel to finish.
