The sidewall tore away from the bead and the tube pushed out. This is the second of these tires (purchased at the same time) that I've had fail this way.\"><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/center><\/p>\n<p>While getting ready to head out on a lunch time ride I noticed that the sidewall of a recently-installed tire on my Salsa El Mariachi had a bubble in it. This is the same failure mode that I experienced <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/gallery\/v\/acquired_stuff\/titus_racer_x_29er\/IMG_6824.jpg.html\">back on April 1st<\/a> when <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/gallery\/v\/travel\/local_places\/biking\/IMAG0204.jpg.html\">out at Addison Oaks with Erik and Jeremy<\/a>. The sidewall tears away from the bead, and the tube bubbles out the side. Thankfully this time it didn&#8217;t burst before I caught it.<\/p>\n<p>Both of these tires were purchased from a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kendausa.com\">Kenda<\/a> rep <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/2010\/01\/17\/rays-mtb\/\">back in early 2010 when on a trip to Ray&#8217;s<\/a>, and I guess it was time for them to go. The tire has been replaced with <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/2011\/09\/29\/kenda-slant-six\/\">a Kenda Slant Six that I picked up last year<\/a>, which makes for a nice (albeit slightly knobbier) rear tire which will hopefully hold up for a while.<\/p>\n<p>I guess it&#8217;s good that this didn&#8217;t happen (or result in a full failure) while riding Stony Creek last night.
