{"id":3185,"date":"2011-01-27T22:28:34","date_gmt":"2011-01-28T03:28:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/?p=3185"},"modified":"2011-01-27T22:28:34","modified_gmt":"2011-01-28T03:28:34","slug":"life-in-a-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/2011\/01\/27\/life-in-a-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Life in a Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Arriving home from picking up a pizza I noticed that I&#8217;d just received a message from <a href=\"http:\/\/house.ofdoom.com\/~hungerf3\/\">Jeff<\/a> informing me of a live premier stream of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/lifeinaday\">Life in a Day<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Life_in_a_Day_(YouTube)\">Wikipedia<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/landing\/youtube\/lifeinaday\/\">Google<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/googleblog.blogspot.com\/2010\/07\/life-in-day.html\">Google Blog<\/a>). I&#8217;m both extremely thankful that Jeff sent this glad that I began watching it, because it was absolutely captivating.<\/p>\n<p>This film was comprised completely of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Crowdsourcing\">crowdsourced<\/a> footage all filmed on July 24<sup><u>th<\/u><\/sup> 2010 assembled into a stunning portrait of life across the world. I couldn&#8217;t help but be reminded of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Godfrey_Reggio\">Godfrey Reggio<\/a> films such as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Koyaanisqatsi\">Koyaanisqatsi<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Naqoyqatsi\">Naqoyqatsi<\/a>, but for some reason this felt significantly more engaging. Apparently this is going to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSTRE70N6D120110124\">be released by National Geographic<\/a> and I must strongly recommend watching this.
