{"id":18456,"date":"2016-08-05T10:59:49","date_gmt":"2016-08-05T14:59:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/?p=18456"},"modified":"2016-11-26T17:10:49","modified_gmt":"2016-11-26T22:10:49","slug":"broken-american-classic-disc-101-rim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/2016\/08\/05\/broken-american-classic-disc-101-rim\/","title":{"rendered":"Broken American Classic Disc 101 Rim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"\/gallery\/v\/stuffivemade\/dt350_ac101_wheels\/IMG_8991.jpg.html?g2_imageViewsIndex=2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/gallery\/d\/110129-2\/IMG_8991.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This morning, when removing the tires from the <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/gallery\/v\/stuffivemade\/dt350_ac101_wheels\/\">American Classic Disc 101 wheels<\/a> that I built for the <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/2013\/11\/26\/salsa-vaya-2-2012-ready-to-go\/\">Vaya<\/a> (so I could redo the tubeless tape) I found a crack near\u00a0a spoke hole on the rear wheel. With only 2441 miles and 140 hours on the wheelset, I&#8217;m a bit disappointed. The wheels were built to\u00a0very even tension and are still very true, but it may be time for a new (or another) rim&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>November 2016 Update: After some back and forth with American Classic where they offered to give me a discount replacement they stopped replying. I\u00a0replaced these with some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wtb.com\/products\/kom\">WTB KOM i23<\/a> rims. Same ERD made it\u00a0a cheap replacement and they built up quite nicely.
