Prior to this we were at Island Lake.\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Having today off (Easter Monday Holiday), I ended up heading out to some mountain bike trails with some friends from the <a href=\"http:\/\/mmba.org\">MMBA<\/a>, Bob and John. Starting quite early this morning we took off towards the west side of the Detroit area, and ended up riding <a href=\"http:\/\/mmba.org\/index.php?option=com_trailguide&#038;task=trail&#038;cid=1\">Island Lake<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/mmba.org\/index.php?option=com_trailguide&#038;task=trail&#038;cid=5\">Maybury<\/a> (both loops of each), with a break to eat lunch at <a href=\"http:\/\/leosconeyisland.com\/\">Leo&#8217;s Coney Island<\/a> and stop by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trails-edge.com\/\">Trail&#8217;s Edge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since I&#8217;d never ridden either of those trails it was a nice new experience, and I&#8217;ll definitely be visiting them in the future. They are both about the same level of technical difficulty that I&#8217;m accustomed to, but much longer in length. I imagine that once the weather is a bit nicer (read: warm enough for shorts) they&#8217;ll be a whole bunch of fun.<\/p>\n<p>Today wasn&#8217;t so nice, necessitating shorts and a jacket and full finger gloves. Since I only have <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/2008\/10\/17\/bike-clothing-and-otherwise\/\">wind\/waterproof full finger gloves<\/a> Bob loaned me his <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/20090413160624.jpg\">Fox Digit<\/a> gloves, which worked out great. If I&#8217;m needing to buy some for myself I think I&#8217;ll get these.<\/p>\n<p>After arriving home at 6:30ish I showered, picked up some fish and chips from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chickenshack.com\/\">Chicken Shack<\/a>, then watched a bunch of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Office_(U.S._TV_series)#Season_three\">Season 3 of The Office<\/a>. Now, bed.
