This problem was <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/2009\/03\/23\/programming-problem-w-avr-dragon-and-atmega8-in-hvpp-mode\/\">mentioned earlier<\/a> and while I tried to  <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/blog\/2009\/03\/25\/building-avrdude-under-os-x\/\">get the app building so that I could attempt to fix it myself<\/a> I wasn&#8217;t getting very far.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully I&#8217;m able to use the AVR Dragon in HVPP mode (which is the configuration shown above with the many, many jumpers) via AVR Studio and accomplish my goal.
