Beyond my day job doing IT things for a big car company, I also like to do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Computer-y things<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mountain, gravel, fat, and road biking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making maps<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building and maintaining mountain bike trails<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Home improvements and effective automation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Listening to music<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wandering around outdoors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drinking coffee and eating snacks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This website exists as a place where I can dump thoughts and technical information for others to see. Some of the posts go back 20+ years and were ported over from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/LiveJournal\">LiveJournal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently this blog, running a minimal copy of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/WordPress\">WordPress<\/a> and a static <a href=\"\/wiki\/\">Technical Pages (Archive)<\/a>, is the bulk of the site. I also maintain <a href=\"https:\/\/nuxx.net\/files\/bicycle\">an archive of manuals and documentation about bicycles and parts<\/a> that I&#8217;ve needed over the years, stored here to make them easier to find.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previously the <em>Technical Pages<\/em> and (now removed) <em>Photo Gallery<\/em> were web apps, running on <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MediaWiki\">MediaWiki<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gallery_Project\">Gallery<\/a>, but in mid-2020 they were archived into static HTML with the Photo Gallery was taken offline to save hosting space and reduce complexity.
